Owning a house has become more important than just simply having a place to live, or making a sound real estate investment. Buying a house is a sign of entering into adulthood. It shows responsibility and commitment of settling down. It conveys to your family and friends that you have left your “live anywhere I please and don’t worry about it” attitude behind. It is a sign of growing up. You wake up one day and find yourself thinking that you want to paint your room blue or have a garage where you park your new car. You realize it is time buy a house. The only problem is, you don’t know how one goes about doing this. That is the exact situation I found myself in. When I was 18, I desperately wanted to buy a house, not because it was a good investment but because I wanted to have a place to call my own and the freedom to paint my walls purple if I wanted too. I wasn’t able to fulfill this dream for 8 years. I rented for awhile and tired of sterile white walls and small-boxed in cookie cutter rooms of apartment complexes. Once I convinced my husband that buying a house was essential to our future happiness, we were ready to go and look for a house or so I thought. I knew enough about the home buying process to be scary. Owning your own home is the American Dream, but you need to be prepared for its challenges. My website will provide tips, tricks, and other information that has helped make the experience as a homebuyer and home owner a little easier. |
